Description

The gentle ridge of the Dammer Berge is surrounded by a varied landscape. The hilly forest areas alternate with extensive meadows and valleys, fields and pastures. Moor and heathland can also be found here. There are several places with a wide view and there are observation towers in the forest. With a height of 146 m, the Signalberg is the highest point in the Dammer Berge. The largest still water in the landscape is the centrally located Dammer Bergsee. Birds you can see in the area are Eagle Owl, Black Woodpecker, Tawny Owl, Common Raven and Common Kingfisher. Often you can see Common Crane flying over from the Diepholz region (sometimes thousands!).
