Description

The Derneburger Teiche are fishponds where more than 200 bird species have been recorded, mainly waterbirds species including Tufted Duck, Red-breasted Merganser, Common Goldeneye and Common Kingfisher.

Access

From the A 7, take the Derneburg exit and drive on the B6 in the direction of Hildesheim. In Astenbeck turn off in the direction of Holle. At the railway crossing, turn left past the ponds to the car park at the Glashaus or choose the car park at Derneburg/Holle station. Click on the P in the map for directions. The are is accessible by foot and bicycle. The circular route on the map is about 2,5 km long.
