Description

Fulderaue und Ilmenaue is a nature reserve along the river Rhine. A river wetland with important areas of shallow backwaters acting as a feeding area for waterfowl and a breeding and resting place for waders and other waterfowl. How exciting the area is depends heavily on the water level. When the water level is low, this a very good area for waders. In the autumn ducks and terns. It's worth a visit as it's a real hotspot at times. Some of the birds you can encounter are Northern Shoveler, Common Teal, Common Goldeneye, Goosander, Eurasian Oystercatcher, Northern Lapwing, Common Ringed Plover, Little Ringed Plover, Eurasian Curlew, Dunlin, Common Snipe, Common Greenshank and Wood Sandpiper.
