Description

A visit to Helenesee is particularly worthwhile in winter, when you have a good chance of observing resting or wintering water birds such as Whooper Swan, Bewick's Swan, Smew, Goosander, Black-throated Diver, Red-throated Diver, gulls, grebes and sea ducks.

Access

There is a huge parking area from where you can enter the Freizeit und Campingpark Helene-See. The shores of the lake have been closed to bathers since spring 2021 due to a landslide until further notice (as of December 2022). However, the peripheral areas are accessible for observers.
