Nice area with wet meadows and productive surrounding forests. Very good for European Stonechat and Meadow Pipit and all kinds of birds of prey.

Description

Especially on warm summer days the area is good for all kinds of raptors as they breed in the surrounding forests like Scheidebusch, Kannenbruch, Grönauer Heide. Woodpeckers, Stock Dove, White Stork or Common Crane pass by frequently. In the evening the call of up to 3 Eurasian Woodcock is not unusual, sometimes Common Snipe too. Typicall breeding species are Common Crane, European Stonechat, Eurasian Skylark, Whinchat, Red-backed Shrike and Meadow Pipit.

Access

There is a bus going to the village of Krummesse. Then walk. You can also take the car till the red and white "no entry sign". A bike is fine too.
