Description

Naturstrand Hilgenriedersiel is part of the National Park Wadden Sea. The natural beach of Hilgenriedersiel is the unique possibility to visit the edge of the salt marsh going into the sea. Even swimming is allowed. At most other places, entering that far into the national park is prohibited. Therefore you can also experience the typical Wadden Sea birds much closer. Especially in winter you can see Twite, Lapland Bunting or Rock Pipit closer than usual. During the summertime you can see Common Redshank and Meadow Pipit up close. A Wadden Sea experience worth a visit. You can also check the whole salt marsh around this place, to the east extending to Neßmersiel and to the West towards Norddeich.
