Description

The Polenztal is located within the national Park Sächsische Schweiz. The Polenz is a small river stream through an almost natural valley. In spring it is famous for the number of flowering spring snowflake ("Märzenbecher"). The river and the valley are the most beautiful and natural habitat for White-throated Dipper and Grey Wagtail. the forest inhabits the typical forest bird species, like Black Woodpecker and Goldcrest.

Walking is the only way possible to explore the Polenz-Valley. Please consider local hiking guides and respect the rules of the national park. The suggested circular walking route on the map is about 9 km long.
