Description

Nea Agathoupoli is a wonderful site, with great numbers of a lot of interesting birds. One of those places where you feel that there is to much to see to handle.

From the observation tower you have a good view of the delta and the lagoons with sometimes big amounts of Little Bittern, Great Bittern, Squacco Heron, Black-crowned Night Heron, Purple Heron, Glossy Ibis and a lot of ducks and Ferruginous Duck. In the surrounding area Golden Oriole, Woodchat Shrike and Gull-billed Tern can be seen.
