Description

Lanca di Acqualunga is a very quiet area with few to no visitors. The reserve is an environmental recovery project which revived ponds and marshes formed by the ancient riverbed. The area was reclaimed and this wetland was created, covered with grass bushes more than one meter high and forests with dead trunks perfect for the fauna that inhabit it. In addition to the birds, you can also watch beavers. There are two hiding spots for observation, but these are not designed very sensibly. So for photographing or close birding it is advantageous to bring camouflage clothing or a small camouflage net. The paths in the area are kept simple, good footwear is an advantage. Among the birds you can see here are Grey Heron, Eurasian Coot, Great Cormorant, Great Egret, Common Kingfisher, Squacco Heron, European Bee-eater and Little Grebe.
