Small but birdrich wildlife area between the two coastal villages of Ventimiglia and Camporosso. More than 200 bird species have been recorded here.

Description

In Oasi del Nervia almost 160 botanical species have been cataloged, most of which include tall trees such as reed, cattail, veronica and cress. There are also large areas of reeds useful above all for birds as a natural habitat. Over 140 species of birds have been seen. Birds such as grebes, herons, ducks, waders, gulls, passerines and many other species.

Italiano: L'Oasi del Nervia è un'area faunistica della provincia di Imperia compresa nel territorio comunale dei due Comuni rivieraschi di Ventimiglia e Camporosso. All'interno dell'oasi sono state catalogate quasi 160 specie botaniche, la maggior parte comprese da alberi di alto fusto come la cannuccia di palude, tifa, la veronica e il crescione. Sono inoltre presenti vaste aree di canneti utili soprattutto ai volatili come habitat naturale o per l'autodepurazione della zona faunistica. Gli uccelli piu' comuni o rari degli ultimi anni sono stati censiti e catalogati in oltre 140 specie quali lo svasso, il tuffetto, l'airone, anatre, limicoli, gabbiani, rallidi, passeriformi e altre specie. Tra i mammiferi si segnalano la volpe, il riccio, il toporagno, il mustiolo, l'arvicola e i rettili orbettino, ramarro, il colubro lacertino, natrice viperina.

Access

The oasis is not accessible unless authorized in advance, however you can observe the birds very well from outside. Through the cycle path (cycle via) that crosses it and runs along it, you can safely watch birds. You can also do Birdwatching towards the sea where many seabirds can be seen. Often sighted marine species such as Sandwich Tern, Yelkouan Shearwater, Scopoli's Shearwater, Great Northern Diver, Goosander and Red-breasted Merganser.

Italiano: L'oasi non é accessibile se non preventivamente autorizzati, comunque attraverso la pista ciclabile (ciclo via) che la attraversa e la percorre ai suoi margini si può tranquillamente fare Birdwatching avendo a disposizione un binocolo, inoltre si può fare Birdwatching verso il mare dove vengono avvistate spesso specie marine tipo Sula, Berta minore, Berta maggiore, Beccapesci, Strolaga mezzana, Smergo maggiore, Smergo minore.
