Description

The Stagno di Porto Botte is a wetland located on the south-western coast of Sardinia. The lagoon is close to the sea and the depth does not exceed 50 cm. The salt steppes that surround the basins give the site an excellent naturalistic quality. Among the birds you can see are Greater Flamingo, Black-winged Stilt, Northern Shoveler, Common Shelduck, Common Sandpiper, Ruff, Purple Heron, Kentish Plover, Little Tern, Common Tern, Little Egret, Common Teal, Great Crested Grebe and Slender-billed Gull.

Easy accessible by car. Click on the P in the map to get directions tot the parking spot. From the parking you can make an easy 5 km circular walk around the lagoon.
