Description

The Kraanlannen has varying water levels. High in winter and lower in summer. As a result, in the spring there are many types of waders on the muddy grounds, some of which also start breeding. including Avocet, Little Ringed Plover, Common Tern and Black-headed Gull. Songbirds also start breeding there: Bluethroat, Savi's Warbler, Reed Warbler. In winter many species of ducks and geese can be seen in the area. And flying past are Common Buzzard, Western Marsh Harrier and Peregrine Falcon.

Nederlands: Gevarieerd moerasgebied de Kraanlannen heeft moerasbossen, petgaten, rietvelden en hooilandpolders. In de Kraanlannen werkt de beheerder met wisselend waterpeil. In de winter hoog en in de zomer lager. Hierdoor zitten in het voorjaar op de slikkige gronden vele soorten steltlopers waarvan een aantal ook gaan broeden. o.a. Avocet, Little Ringed Plover, Common Tern en Black-headed Gull . Ook zangvogels gaan er broeden: Bluethroat, Savi's Warbler, Reed Warbler . In de winter vele soorten eenden en ganzen en langs vliegende Common Buzzard, Western Marsh Harrier, Peregrine Falcon.
