Description

The NAM gas storage in all its ugliness or beauty is surrounded by water, meadows, marshes and bushes. Integrating nature resulted in nature park De Noorderriet. Throughout the park there are paved routes (ideal for wheelchair users), but also more adventurous boot paths through nature. When you walk through the entire park, you can enjoy nature and birds for about 7 to 8 kilometers. Birds you can see here include Northern Shoveler, Common Pochard, Common Cuckoo, Little Ringed Plover, Western Marsh Harrier, Common Kingfisher, Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler, Marsh Warbler, Black Redstart, Eurasian Bullfinch and European Goldfinch.
