Nice piece of tidal area next to the Hollandsch Diep. Good place to spot ducks, geese and waders. During bird migration sometimes rarities can be seen here.

Description

The small nature reserve Oosterse Bekade Gorzen is located on the banks of the Hollandsch Diep. Twice a day, large pieces of mud fall dry here, which attracts waders, ducks, geese and other birds. Especially in spring and autumn during bird migration you can sometimes find rare birds here. You can walk around the area over a dike so that you have a wide view of the area. Among the birds you can see here are Lesser White-fronted Goose, Garganey, Smew, Black-tailed Godwit, Avocet and Ruff. But many more, see the extendend birdlist below.

Nederlands: Het kleine natuurgebied Oosterse Bekade Gorzen ligt op de oever van het Hollandsch Diep. Twee keer per dag vallen hier grote stukken slik droog en dat trekt steltlopers, eenden, ganzen en andere vogels aan. Vooral in voorjaar en najaar tijdens de vogeltrek kun je hier zeldzame vogels aantreffen. Je kunt het gebied mooi overzien vanaf de dijken en het gebied op die manier verkennen. Vogels die je hier kan aantreffen zijn Lesser White-fronted Goose, Garganey, Smew, Black-tailed Godwit, Avocet and Ruff.
