Description

Arkemheen is a polder landscape, in fact one of the oldest in The Netherlands. It is a meadow bird area par excellence! The cycle path over the dike is full of interesting birdstops. Birds are all around you. In the meadows of the polder, on the water and on the banks of the Nijkerkernauw. Many birds can be seen here like Black-tailed Godwit, Common Redshank, Northern Lapwing and Eurasian Oystercatcher. Quite often you can even see a White-tailed Eagle.
