Description
The Sterrebos is a small forest park in the south of the city of Groningen. It's a miniature forest with a surprising number of birds for its small size. In spring, many forest birds can be seen, such as the Cojoaică cu degete scurte, Țiclean and Ciocănitoare pestriță mare. Stârc cenușiu breed in the high treetops in the Sterrebos. There is a small pond where a Pescăraș albastru can sometimes be seen. Pițigoi mare and Pițigoi albastru can be observed all year round.

Nederlands: Het Sterrebos is een klein bospark in het zuiden van de stad Groningen. Het is een minibos met opvallend veel vogels voor het kleine oppervlak. In de lente zijn er veel bosvogels te zien, zoals de Cojoaică cu degete scurte, Țiclean en Ciocănitoare pestriță mare. Groepjes Stârc cenușiu broeden in de hoge boomtoppen in het Sterrebos. Er is een klein vijvertje waar zich soms een Pescăraș albastru laat zien. Het hele jaar door zijn de Pițigoi mare en Pițigoi albastru te horen tussen de bomen.

Access
Sterrebos is located in the south of Groningen and is easiest to reach by bike. Parking is available in the surrounding residential areas, but please note that paid parking is required. Sterrebos is also within walking distance of the Europapark train station (1). It is a short ten-minute walk from the station. The park has several forest trails and can be explored on foot; you can see everything in about half an hour.

Nederlands: Het Sterrebos ligt in het zuiden van de stad Groningen en is het gemakkelijkst te bereiken met de fiets. Parkeren kan in de omliggende woonwijken, houdt er daar wel rekening mee dat het betaald parkeren is. Ook ligt het Sterrebos op loopafstand van treinstation Europapark (1). Het is een kleine tien minuten lopen vanaf het station. Het park heeft een aantal bospaadjes en kan te voet verkend worden, in een klein half uur kun je alles wel gezien hebben.
