Description

The Veluwezoom is located on the south side of the Veluwe where the higher sandy soils merge into the river IJssel valley. Much of the area has a fertile soil, which can be seen in the richer deciduous forests that can be found here. All kinds of forest birds can be seen from Black Woodpecker to Common Crossbill. Species such as Eurasian Nightjar and European Stonechat can be found on the heaths, as well as Great Grey Shrike in winter.
