Description

An area of approximately 70 ha of arable land and vacant sandy soils that are managed by nature organisation Natuurmonumenten. On behalf of Natuurmonumenten, we count all the field birds that use the fields in the winter. In winter, large flocks of finches gather here. Birds we have seen here are:

Red-backed Shrike, Common Chaffinch, Reed Bunting, Eurasian Bullfinch, Great Grey Shrike, Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Yellowhammer, Greenfinch, Common Buzzard,Common Raven, Grey Partridge, Magpie, Egyptian Goose, Brambling, Linnet,Common Snipe, Eurasian Woodcock, Common Wood Pigeon, Stock Dove, European Honey-buzzard, Wood Lark, Eurasian Jay, Willow Tit, Crested Tit, Eurasian Skylark, Eurasian Kestrel, Jackdaw, Common Pheasant, Eurasian Collared Dove, Sparrowhawk, Eurasian Goshawk, Little Owl, Coal Tit, Eurasian Green Woodpecker, Carrion Crow, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Magpie, Great Tit, Willow Warbler, Wood Warbler, Garden Warbler, Common Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Long-tailed Tit, Goldcrest, Lesser Whitethroat, Fieldfare, Greater Whitethroat, Blackbird, European Stonechat, Northern Wheatear, European Goldfinch, Common Redstart, Firecrest, Black Redstart, Eurasian Nuthatch, Wren, Dunnock, Western Yellow Wagtail, Redwing, House Sparrow, Hawfinch, White Wagtail,Meadow Pipit, Common Crossbill, Tree Pipit, Eurasian Siskin, Reed Bunting

Dutch: Het gaat hierbij om een gebied met ca. 70 hectare akkerland en braakliggende zandgronden die door Natuurmonumenten beheerd worden. Wij tellen in opdracht van Natuurmonumenten in de winter alle akkervogels die gebruik maken van de akkers. We treffen hier in de winter grote groepen Vinken, Groenlingen, Geelgorsen, Graspiepers en af en toe Grauwe Klauwier, Klapekster. In de "Birdlist" staan de soorten die hier over het gehele jaar zijn aangetroffen.

Aan de linkerkant van de Beekseweg (N335) ligt een prachtig gebiedje (ca.5 ha.) begroeid met hoofdzakelijk Brem (Cytisus scoparius) en enkele solitaire bomen (voornamelijk Berk) dat helaas niet toegankelijk is. Met de telscoop/verrekijker, is het gehele gebied vanaf het fietspad, dat langs de N335 loopt echter goed te overzien. Bovendien kan men een wandeling (ca 1 uur) rondom het gebied maken.

Winter : Great Grey Shrike,Yellowhammer,Linnet,Common Chaffinch,Eurasian Bullfinch,Eurasian Kestrel,Common Buzzard,Common Raven,European Robin,European Goldfinch,Common Snipe,Blackbird,Eurasian Woodcock,Common Snipe,European Robin,Mistle Thrush,Song Thrush,Wren,Yellowhammer,European Goldfinch,Carrion Crow,Great Tit,Eurasian Blue Tit,Common Wood Pigeon,Stock Dove.

Zomer : European Stonechat (ca. 4 broedparen) en alle vernoemde soorten uitgezonderd de Great Grey Shrike. In het gebied broeden in het seizoen ca. 10 broedparen Yellowhammer.
