Description

Zuiderbosch and Hulshorsterzand are part of the Veluwe, one of the largest natural areas in the Netherlands. This part of the Veluwe is an area where forest and heather alternate. The climax of this walk comes as soon as you reach the Hulshorsterzand. This is one of the few large connected drift sand areas in the Netherlands. So in this area you can see birds of forest and heather like Eurasian Nightjar, different kinds of woodpeckers, European Honey-buzzard and Common Raven. Hulshorsterzand is one of the few places in the Netherlands where you can find Tawny Pipit.
