Description

Liavatnet is a small lake in the middle of Åsane, the northern suburb of Bergen. The lake is surrounded by built-up areas and is an important recreation area for families living in the area. A graveled path (1,5 km) has been built around the lake. Most of the birds use the lake for foraging. Ducks and gulls can be seen in the lake at all seasons. Mallard and Tufted Duck are the most numerous ducks but a number of other bird species can also be seen like Great Cormorant Common Gull, Black-headed Gull and Hooded Crow.
