Nyksund is a tiny fishing village in the Vesterålen archipelago. Once a bustling hub for Arctic cod fishing, Nyksund was abandoned in the 1970s due to its remote location and outdated harbor. It became a ghost town, until a group of passionate creatives began restoring it in the 1980s and 90s. Every spring Gaivota-tridáctila come back to Nyksund to nest. Around the village you can also observe Ostraceiro, Eider-edredão, Merganso-de-poupa and Pintarroxo-de-bico-amarelo.

Nyksund is a remote fishing village on the northern tip of Langøya island, part of the Vesterålen archipelago, just north of the more famous Lofoten Islands. Press P on the map for directions to to Nyksund Village. You can't miss the Gaivota-tridáctila colony in the village. Another option is to do a bird safari departing from Nyksund. These RIB boat tours take you to Anda island, 10 km north of Nyksund, where you can see Papagaio-do-mar, Torda-mergulheira, Arau-comum, Águia-rabalva on the steep cliff faces.
