Description

Lacu Sărat lies in the south-west of Brăila town. The lake has a high water salinity and is surrounded by forest. It attracts many birds in any season. The presence of a high number of aquatic and terrestrial species throughout both migration periods and breeding season or in wintertime means makes Lake Sărat a good place for birding. Spring and fall migration are the peak moments for migratory aquatic birds and waders. Among the nice birds you can see are Common Shelduck, Grey Plover, Little Egret, Whiskered Tern, Eurasian Nightjar, Mediterranean Gull and Eurasian Hoopoe.
