Description

The Delta del Tordera was changed by storm Gloria in January 2020. The formation of a large lagoon with marshes in its final stretch has created a surprising landscape full of life. The sediments dragged in by Gloria's storms have led to the appearance of an extensive sheet of water typical of a nature reserve. The result is a sudden geographical change and the emergence of a delta where birds of all kinds get food and rest. Sandbars formed off the coast dynamically delimit a salt and freshwater lagoon that has become an ideal habitat for species like Greater Flamingo and many other birds like Little Ringed Plover, Black-winged Stilt, Audouin's Gull, European Shag, Squacco Heron, Common Kingfisher, White Stork and Scopoli's Shearwater and different kinds of waders.

Espagnol: Lo que el Gloria nos dejó. Flamencos, pardelas, cormoranes, garcetas…
