Description
In the surroundings of Grulleros and Cembranos is the complex of gravel pits Graveras de Grulleros located. It has been several years since industrial activity was abandoned and they are in the process of naturalization. There are lagoons with dense reed beds, others more open and some quite clogged with arboreal vegetation growing in them. This variety of environments attracts different groups of birds, such as waders, ducks, passerines and raptors. The place is especially interesting during the migratory passages, when a greater variety of birds call at this point to regain strength.

Espagnol: Lagunas formadas en graveras en desuso. En el entorno de Grulleros y Cembranos se encuentra este complejo de graveras. Su origen está en la extracción de áridos para las obras del AVE. Sin embargo hace varios años que se abandonó la actividad industrial y están en pleno proceso de naturalización. Así hay lagunas con densos carrizales, otras más abiertas y algunas bastantes colmatadas con vegetación arbórea creciendo en ellas. Esta variedad de entornos atrae a distintos grupos de aves, como limícolas, ardeidas, paseriformes o rapaces. El lugar es epecialmente interesante durante los pasos migratorios, cuando una mayor variedad de aves recala en este punto para reponer fuerzas.

The best way to access the lagoons is from the dirt roads that leave the N-630 road in Cembranos. The surrounding roads are wide dirt tracks that can be traveled by car and there are many places to park.
