Description
This is a very large area, easily accessible and ideal for observing alpine birds, as the lakes are located at an altitude of over 1,000 meters. The Covadonga Lakes are two small lakes, Enol and Ercina, of glacial origin, situated in the Asturian part of the Picos de Europa National Park, in the western massif of this mountain range. There is a third lake, Bricial, which only has water when the snow melts in the mountains, but it also belongs to the group.

Español: Se trata de un área muy grande, de fácil acceso e ideal para la observación de aves alpinas, ya que los lagos se encuentran a una altitud superior a los 1000 metros. Los lagos de Covadonga son dos pequeños lagos, el Enol y el Ercina, de origen glaciar, situados en la parte asturiana del parque nacional de los Picos de Europa, en el macizo occidental de dicha cadena montañosa. Existe un tercer lago, el Bricial, que solo tiene agua durante el deshielo, pero también pertenece al conjunto.

Access
The Lagos de Covadonga are located in the Picos de Europa National Park, in Asturias. For a peaceful visit, it's advisable to go during the off-season, when you can reach the area by car. From April 5th to December 8th is considered peak season, and you cannot get there by car. You'll need to take a bus or taxi (which I don't recommend) as the area is very touristy and crowded, especially during the summer months. There's a large parking area with numerous well-marked trails starting from it. Press P on the map for directions. Once in the lake area, you can enjoy hiking or cycling. The circular route shown on the map is about 5 km.

Español: Es importante que si se quiere tener una visita tranquila se realice durante la temporada baja, ya que se puede hacer con vehiculo particular. Del 5 de abril al 8 de diciembre se considera temporada alta y se tiene que realizar mediante autobús o taxi (no lo recomiendo), ya que el sitio es muy turistico y se encuentra masificado, sobre todo en los meses de verano. Se dispone un amplio parking, del que parten numerosas rutas bien señalizadas. Una vez en la zona de lagos se pueden realizar rutas a pie o en bicicleta.
