Rodersdorf is an area with many species of breeding birds in summer and one of the best places to watch birds of prey during migration.

Description

The fields near the village of Rodersdorf are very natural with many hedges and fallow areas in which Obična grmuša, Rusi svračak, and Obična travarka breed. Part of the area is a small nature reserve where Veliki trstenjak and other reed inhabitants can be found. Breeding at the church are Čavka. In autumn, many birds of prey such as Ribar, Eja livadarka, Eja močvarica, Poljska eja and Osičar pass through. In addition, Crna roda move across the area every year. It is also one of the best Žuta pliska spots in the region.

You can drive by car all the way up to the school building in Rodersdorf and walk from there. Click on the P in the map to get directions to this parking spot. Public transport: in Basel you can take tram line 10 to Rodersdorf.
