Beautiful paths along a variety of habitats for birds (tall trees, bushes, ponds, and streams). The forest is big enough that you can find most of the common species you'd expect outside of the city, from the Rødhals to the Grønspætte. Be on the lookout for other birds like Sortspætte, Spætmejse, Sortmejse, Sumpmejse, Rødtoppet Fuglekonge, Broget fluesnapper, and Lille Lappedykker.

Waldlabor Zürich is located 6 km north of the Zürich city centre. Easily accessible by foot, on a bike, and by a number of public transit options. The forest can be reached directly via the Zurich, Schützenhaus Höngg or Zurich, Grünwald stops. The Zurich, ETH Hönggerberg stop is just a short walk from the forest. The forest can be reached on foot in just under 15 minutes from the Zurich, Hungerbergstrasse or Zurich, Zehntenhausplatz stops.
