Mount Nemrut is an ancient burrial tomb with giant statues. The mountainous site holds many Cinereous Bunting, Red-tailed Wheatear, Shore Lark.
High altitude species and East-Turkish specialities are common at this place, like Cinereous Bunting, Red-tailed Wheatear, Shore Lark, Red-fronted Serin, Common Rock Thrush, etc. The valleys contain species like White-spectacled Bulbul, Black-headed Bunting and White-throated Robin
From the tiny town Karadut take the Nemrut Dagi Yolu right to the top. Park your car somewhere before the road gets to steep. Walk towards the top. Cinereous Bunting are everywhere along the road.
Although this is a touristic site, not many people visit the area and tourists are mostly concentrated around the tomb and statues, leaving a vast area just for you as a birdwatcher.
As the area is located in Kurdish area of Turkey, visiters should inform themselves about the current political situation before trying to visit the area.
