Description
Lake Salda is far from the sea and it is a good stop for migrating birds. The combination of pine forests, marsh river and a big lake attracts many different birds. In spring you can find different waders such as Ruff , Wood Sandpiper , Spur-winged Lapwing and others. You can meet Ruddy Shelduck , Eurasian Teal , Black-headed Gull during whole year at the lakeshore.
In the open landscape around the lake live Common Quail , shrikes, Whinchat , Eurasian Kestrel and buntings, including Cretzschmar's Bunting. The pine forest is a good home for different tits, finches, thrushes and even European Turtle Dove and Rüppell's Warbler.

Access
Lake Salda is located near the village of Yeshilova, 80 km southeast of the city of Denizli and 95 km southwest of Isparta. You can get there by taxi from the village Yeshilova or by car. Just go along the road D330 and find convenient place to stop. Then go on foot through the forest to the lake. You will need at least two hours to discover main interesting places by this lake. Parking near touristic part of the lake may be paid. Press a P on the map for directions.
