Description
Al Jazirah Khor is a large wetland and coastal protected area extending over 3 kilometers and known for its rich biodiversity and mangrove habitats. The area is rich in migratory and resident birds. The marine wetland is good for waders, gulls, terns, herons, Socotra Cormorant, Greater Flamingo, Eurasian Spoonbill and Red-wattled Lapwing. Crab-Plover is regularly observed. In the trees and bushes you can find Great Grey Shrike, Delicate Prinia and Arabian Babbler.

Al Jazirah Khor is located south of the city of Ra's al-Khaimah. You can overlook the wetland from the dune tops and the surrounding area. The coastal resort Anantara Mina Al Arab (1) borders the wetland and is a good base to explore the area.
