Description
Acaster Airfield is a former Royal Air Force station located 9.5 km south of York city centre. It was developed from a small grass airfield at the beginning of the Second World War and its main use was as a training base for RAF Bomber Command before being used by RAF Maintenance Command from 1944 until 1957. On the airfield and in the surrounding area you can encounter birds like Potârniche cu picioare roșii, Fazan, Potârniche, Cuc, Nagâț, Fugaci de țărm, Becațină mică, Uliu păsărar, Gaie roșie, Șorecar comun, Strigă, Cucuvea and Huhurez mic.
