Blashford lakes is a complex of lakes located in Ringwood/Hampshire with a large amount of bird species.

Description

Blashford Lakes is a good place for birdwatching, as it has a large amount of bird species there. Blashford Lakes is a great place for observing overwintering birds such as Great Bittern, Bearded Tit and Great Egret . The more regular species of this reserve include, a breeding colony of Sand Martin, breeding Common Kingfisher and Great Crested Grebe. On the lakes you can also spot wintering wildfowl such as Common Goldeneye and Goosander.

Access

Blasford Lakes is between Poulner and Verwood ( which are both small towns ), and is easily accessed from both of these locations. If you go to Blashford the carpark for the reserve is in the education centre on the southside of Ellingham road.
