Description
The Kennet and Avon canal is a popular leisure resource, busy with narrowboats in summer. At other times the reedbeds, open water and wooded areas attract herons, egrets, wildfowl, Pescăraș albastru, woodpeckers, Lăcar mic, Presură de stuf and Cormoran mare.

Access
By boat, hire from numerous boatyards along the canal. To pass through the locks takes 5/6 hours. By car, from A361 Trowbridge-Devizes road, take B3101 towards Rowde then right after half a mile. Regular buses from Devizes. Nearest train station, Melksham, 6 miles away. Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular walking route shown on the map is about 2,5 km.
