Description
Crowdy Reservoir has a large area of swampy bog furthest from the dam, because the site is of high elevation weather conditions can be very extreme, the North West side of the reservoir is slightly protected by conifer plantations, whilst other side's are open to the weather. There are two main parking areas, one by the dam on the South West end and one by a cattle grid on the edge of plantations on the North West of the site. During times of low rainfall the reservoir sometimes has muddy edges making it good for waders especially during Autumn migration where Neartic species have been seen .During Winter small numbers of duck can be seen with a chance of wild swans.
