Description
Chief habitats in Elan Valley and Gigrin Kites are: streams and open water, frequented by grebes, Derekuşu and Dağ kuyruksallayanı. The ancient sessile oak woodland is home to Kızılkuyruk, Kara sinekkapan, Orman çıvgını, Orman tırmaşıkkuşu, Atmaca and open moorland containing Kır baykuşu, Boz doğan, Kervançulluğu, Altın yağmurcun, Karakarınlı kumkuşu, Kar Tavuğu ssp scotica, Kuyrukkakan, Tarlakuşu, Taşkuşu Gökçe delice and Kuzgun.

Access
Kite feeding station south of Rhayader feeds daily each afternoon. It has a hide and parking. Reservoirs are west of Rhayader and have several car parks, wetland birds usually at top ends. For a circular drive to see 4 of the 5 reservoirs, keep turning right to follow Elan valley. Claerwen reservoir is a dead end for cars.
