Description
132 bird species have been recorded on the English side of the Mosses alone. Including Sokol Lastavičar, Sivi Sokol, Sova močvarica, Eja Močvarica, Eja Strnjarica, Velika Bijela Čaplja, Mala Bijela Čaplja, Crnoglavi Batić, Šumska šljuka, Leganj and Velika Strnadica. Many species of dragonfly, damselfly and 32 butterfly species. Also adders, common lizards, water voles and otters. There is a bird hide and a viewing tower. Good for dragonflies and Sokol Lastavičar in May.

Access
The Mosses are almost midway between Shrewsbury and Wrexham. From the A49 road, go west in Prees and follow signs to Whixham marina. Parking available on the English side next to the canal, see P on map below. Nearest bus stop 3 miles away, nearest train station at Prees, 4 miles. Access by boat or kayak or canoe along the canal. Wheelchair access.
