Description
Glasfynydd Forest has mostly moorland and woodland species eg prosnik, Red Grouse, pogorelček, kozica, puklež, mali sokol, navadna postovka and rjavi škarnik. In winter veliki srakoper, krivokljun, kalin, čižek and Brezovček. Few birds on the reservoir but kreheljc, siva čaplja and veliki žagar possible. povodni kos and siva pastirica below the dam. For podhujka, look for a recently felled forest area with regrowth of bracken, bramble etc - only active after dark between May and August.

Access
From Swansea take A4067 Tawe valley road then left two miles beyond Danyrogof caves. From A40 Brecon/Llandovery road, turn south from Trecastle. Buses through Trecastle regularly. Train station at Llandovery. The circular walk around the reservoir is 8 km.
