In Glen Tanar 106 bird species have been seen, passerines and raptors prominent. Águila Real, Aguilucho pálido, Gavilán Común, Milano Real, Busardo ratonero, Halcón Peregrino, Búho Campestre, Reyezuelo Sencillo, Piquitureto Común, Jilguero Lúgano, Papamoscas Cerrojillo. Wildcats possible, also Red Deer, Otter, and Pine Marten. Lagópodo Común and Gallo lira común occur on higher ground, but although formerly a stronghold for Urogallo Común, these have unfortunately now died out.
