Beschreibung
Great Cumbrae Island is a good place to see Basstölpel which nest on nearby Ailsa Craig. Also auks, terns, skuas, sea ducks especially Eisente, shearwaters and Eissturmvogel. Waders including Austernfischer, Großer Brachvogel, Steinwälzer, Meerstrandläufer best viewed at the north end. Warblers including Feldschwirl nest in abundance.

Zugang
10 minute car or pedestrian ferry from Largs, which is 27 miles west of Glasgow via A760. Train or bus available in Largs. Drive, cycle or walk around the island's coast. Boat trips also available. A circular walk of the island is 16 km/10 miles.
