Middleton-in-Teesdale is a market town in County Durham. The settlement is surrounded by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Spring offers a great opportunity of seeing a range of birds, including woodland specialists (muchołówka żałobna pleszka), moorland specialists and bird of upland rivers such as cietrzew, brodziec piskliwy and pluszcz. Among the other birds you can encounter are drozd obrożny, pliszka górska, czyż and skowronek.
