Description

Rescobie Loch covers an area of approximately 1.2 square kilometers (0.46 square miles). The loch is fed by Lunan Water which enters from the West and exits to the East. It is a reed fringed large loch with some muddy shoreline and marshy areas. Year round of interest. You can observe gulls, geese, ducks, etc in winter. Sometimes passage of pikkulokki in spring, fishing sääksi (kalasääski) in summertime, often large nos nokikana in winter.

Access

Rescobie Loch is located in the parish of Rescobie, 4 km (2.5 mi) to the East of Forfar. Only easily accessible by car/bike. Anglers car park on the north west side. Roadside parking on south side, then only really on foot. No wheelchair access though much of loch can be scoped from north car park.
