Description

The river estuary near Ruan Lanihorne is very good for wildfowl, waders, raptors and other waterbirds. Watch from Sett Bridge or the stone quay. Worth having scope as views can be distant at low tide. Birds you can observe include Gravand, Brunnakke, Glente, Silkehegre, Heilo, Gluttsnipe, Strandsnipe, Storspove, Småspove, Vipe, and Isfugl. Excellent for Fiskeørn in spring and autumn.

Access

Ruan Lanihorne is located near Truro in Cornwall. Park on stone quay at P on the map or sensibly in pull-ins. The area is not accessible by public transport. Walk along road in either direction to view various marshy areas.
