Description
Tomintoul Bird Hide is a small place to observe meadow birds on the Glenlivet Estate. The area is a stronghold for wading birds and is one of the best breeding areas in North East of Scotland. Velika carska šljuka, Vivak, Ostrigar, Barska šljuka and Crvenonogi sprudnik can all be spotted here thanks to careful farming regimes and the creation of ponds and wetland areas. Shallow muddy scrapes have been created to provide feeding sites for the waders and their chicks during the breeding season. In the bird hide you find some additional information. Other birds that can be spotted in the surroundings are Konopljarka, Španska kamenjarka, Poljska ševa, Livadska trepteljka, Suri orao and Belorepan.
