When Walmore Common floods it is a sheltered spot for Αγριόκυκνος, Νανόκυκνος, dabbling ducks, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Καλημάνα, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Βροχοπούλι, (Ευρασιατική) Τουρλίδα, Λασποσκαλίδρα, (Κοινό) Μπεκατσίνι and Κουφομπεκάτσινο. There are (Ευρωπαϊκή) Κουκουβάγια, Χουχουριστής and Ανθρωποπούλλι in the area all year round. Sylvia and leaf warbers breed. Καστανολαίμης and Κιτρινοσουσουράδα pass on migration. The Severn bore tidal wave can be viewed from the pub nearby.

Located north of the A48 Chepstow to Gloucester road which is a regular bus route. Park near Chaxhill primary school and follow footpath nearby to view. Further access from Lower Ley. Park at T-junction shown and walk west for 3/4 mile.
