Description
Wigpool Common has varied fauna and flora. Gorse, bracken, willow scrub and pinewoods surround the main pool. There are bog asphodel, marsh speedwell and marsh pennywort. Palmate and smooth newts, emperor dragonflies, 4-spotted chasers, hawkers and darters all breed in the pool. Roe and muntjac deer are possibilities. The wooded scrubby area southward towards Puddlebrook is best for birds including Brunsisik, Gulspurv, Rødstjert, Tornirisk, Mandarinand, Rugde, Spettmeis, Buskskvett, Svartstrupe and Gråfluesnapper.

Access
Parking on track adjoining the pool. From A4136 traffic lights head north past Hales DIY then right to pass through Drybrook. One mile thereafter, go right at the crossroads.
