Description
Willow Tree Fen has a traditional fenland landscape of shallow meres, seasonally flooded pastures, hay meadows and reedbeds. Cattle graze Willow Tree Fen from April to November. It has up to 4 pairs of breeding Grátrana (2023). Winter roost holds 20 plus Brúnheiðir, with reguler Bláheiðir. Grátrana roost on site. Turnugla, Brandugla and Álft in good numbers with the occasional apperance of Dvergsvanur. All 3 Egret species are regular.

Access
Willow Tree Fen is situated between Baston and Spalding. The car park is located on Counter Drain Drove, pode hole, near Spalding. Click on the P in the map for directions. There is NO access accross the reserve but the car park is raised above the reserve and gives viewing accross the whole area. There is a path along the counter drain, which is open at some times of the year.
