Beschreibung
The Garr Ranch house, built in 1848, is the oldest Anglo building in Utah still standing on its original foundation. Garr Ranch is an oasis in the middle of a desert mountainous terrain on Antelope Island with it's Siberian Elm trees that cover the picnic table and a small museum that visitors can visit.
While much of Antelope Island is open grassland, the ranch offers shade and water, drawing in songbirds, owls, and raptors. Great Horned Owl nest in the woods, Loggerhead Shrike and Western Meadowlark are common, and migratory species stop here during spring and fall. The 30 minutes or one hour walking trail can surprise any visitor with a view of a Great Horned Owl and many other birds.
