Description

Los Poblanos Open Space in Albuquerque are flat fields with alfalfa and corn plots. Wide, level trails. Good place to see Sandhill Crane in the winter. Also a good place for many birds of prey and songbirds such as the Blue Grosbeak and Lazuli Bunting.

Access

Los Poblanos Open Space is located in Albuquerque just north of Montano Rd NW on Tierra Viva. Close to Shepard of the Valley Church. Accessible by bus. parking and porta-toilets available. Press P on the map for directions. Biking and horse riding allowed. Dogs allowed on leash. Plan for 1 or 2 hours if hiking the complete circuit of area (about 3-4 km). Bring water and be respectful of farm plots.
