Description
Washington Park is a great park in Denver, which includes a 2.5-mile loop (4 km) for walking or biking. The park has two lakes, both of which are good for birding, especially the southern lake (Grasmere Lake). This park is busy, especially on weekends when the weather is good, with families, dogs, children, sports, events. So it's not a quiet place to bird. But it can be a good place to bird in the middle of a city.
Regular species include Canada Goose, Redhead, Snowy Egret, Black-crowned Night Heron, Red-winged Blackbird, Double-crested Cormorant, American White Pelican and Tree Swallow.
