These sedimentation ponds are located east of Tienen and are a collaboration between nature organization Natuurpunt and the city's sugar factory.

Description

The area of Bezinkingsputten Tienen consists mainly of fields and meadows with a few ponds here and there. These ponds attract many waders and ducks. Among the birds you can see are Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, Common Greenshank, Western Marsh Harrier, Eurasian Kestrel, Little Grebe, Northern Shoveler and Common Teal.

Nederlands: Deze bezinkingsvijvers liggen ten oosten van Tienen en zijn een samenwerking tussen natuurorganisatie Natuurpunt en de suikerfabriek van de stad zelf. Het gebied van Bezinkingsputten Tienen bestaat voornamelijk uit akkers en weiden met hier en daar wat vijvers. Deze vijvers trekken heel wat steltlopers en eenden aan.
